Committed to excellence in education for all learners.
Robin McGregor is a lifelong community advocate, experienced school board leader, and proud trades professional who believes education should work for everyone—from students just starting out to adults retraining for new careers.
Robin brings decades of hands-on experience to public service. She worked for 35 years at Consumers Energy, rising through the skilled trades as a lineman, pipefitter, cathodic specialist, and welding inspector—learning firsthand the value of career-focused education, safety, and accountability. Today, she serves at Oakland County Parks, building partnerships that strengthen community programs and expand opportunity.
Robin previously served on the Waterford Board of Education, where she helped guide district leadership, supported early childhood education through Head Start, and stood up for transparency and responsible decision-making. She understands how boards function—and how important it is to listen, ask tough questions, and always put students and the community first.
Robin is running for the Oakland Community College Board of Trustees to help ensure OCC remains accessible, relevant, and community-driven:
Known for her integrity and willingness to stand up for what’s right, Robin believes OCC should be a place where opportunity is real, education is affordable, and every student—no matter their age or background—has a path to success.
Education. Workforce. Community.
That’s the future Robin McGregor is working to build at Oakland Community College.
